In the Learning Sciences area of the Educational Psychology Department students work closely with faculty members in a rigorous research environment.

In our apprenticeship model, students work closely with one faculty member who is their advisor during their studies. New students enter as members of their advisor’s lab and beginning working on research projects with other students in the advisor’s lab almost immediately. Finding a good match between advisor and student is an important part of graduate education in the Learning Sciences area.

For this reason, prospective students are encouraged to reach out as early as possible to faculty members and current students whose research interests overlap with their own.
