Nicole Martin is a Ph.D. student in the Learning Sciences program area of Educational Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She received her B.A. in psychology from Washington University in St. Louis. She works with her Sadhana Puntambekar in the Interactive Learning and Design Lab.

Nicole is interested in investigating ways to improve students’ ability to think and reason through complex problems as they learn scientific concepts and relationships. Specifically, she is interested in teacher learning and understanding how to effectively support teachers to help their students learn science practices. Her current research relates to the development of these scientific practices in the context of middle school life sciences.
